MEXICO CITY: Saturday June 23, “King” Carlos Molina (28-9-2, 8KO) will face Olympian Souleymane Cissokho (6-0, 5KO ) in Paris, France in a televised co-main event promoted by Ring Star France. The match is at 154 pounds, which has Carlos moving up in weight, and is scheduled for ten rounds.
Molina is looking forward to the challenge in France and showing what he has to offer at 154. “I’m feeling good at this weight, I’m in shape and have been sparring, so this fight is a good time to get out there and make a statement.” he said. “I have some new additions to my team, Lou Askenette and Victor Mateo, and we’re ready to put in the work and get some wins.”
The June 23 fight is a milestone 40th fight for Molina, and again pits him with an undefeated former Olympian, which he sees as a good opportunity and a proving fight at 154. “We may be considered the opponent for a new up and coming guy, but there’s a lot to be said for my experience and skill,” Molina said. “Cissokho has to prove himself too, and I’m ready to show him what it’s like to face a true professional.”
